Kāhui Whetū
Wednesday 8 July & Thursday 9 July
Join us at Kāhui Whetū for a magical night!
For the first time, on Wednesday evening, the Gore Gardens will open for a quiet night of lights from 5:00pm – 10:00pm. With just the illuminated gardens and no additional entertainment, this relaxed evening offers a chance to enjoy the light display at your own pace; perfect for those who prefer a calmer atmosphere, including older visitors, families with young children, or anyone who finds large crowds and loud noises overwhelming.
Then on Thursday from 5:00pm through till 9:00pm, enjoy the full Kāhui Whetū experience as the Gore Gardens transform with a sparkling light display alongside a vibrant evening of entertainment and activities. Make sure you wrap up cosy and warm, as this winter event takes full advantage of those dark, crisp and early nights.
Experience a wide variety of delicious kai from local food vendors, and treat the whānau to neon face painting, UV light art, and a range of fun, family-friendly activities and fantastic photo opportunities.
This community event is free to attend and suitable for all ages.
