The Opportunity
We’re looking for a detail-oriented, proactive, and collaborative professional to join our 3 Waters team as a Senior Compliance Officer. If you thrive in a role that blends technical expertise with community impact, this is your chance to make a real difference.
As the Senior Compliance Officer, you’ll be the go-to person for all things compliance across resource consents, trade waste, drinking water, and asset management. You’ll work closely with internal teams, external agencies, and the public to ensure our water services meet regulatory standards and deliver exceptional service.
In addition to the above you will:
- Monitor and manage resource consent compliance and reporting.
- Maintain and update compliance databases and systems.
- Lead the review and development of bylaws and policies.
- Oversee trade waste applications, assessments, and monitoring.
- Ensure drinking water compliance and liaise with Taumata Arowai.
- Support asset management planning and data input.
- Track performance against service level targets.
- Respond to public enquiries and complaints in a professional manner.
- Produce technical reports and committee papers as required.
- Promote best practices across the 3 Waters team.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Strong knowledge of environmental compliance and water regulations.
- Experience with database and asset management systems (e.g., AssetFinda).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to analyse technical data and produce clear reports.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Right to live and work in New Zealand.
