We reckon our older residents deserve a bit extra. That's why there's free parking in Gore for those aged 80 years and over.
To be eligible for a free parking permit, applicants must:
- Produce a current New Zealand driver licence
- Drive their own vehicle
- Be aged 80 years or over
A permit is valid only in metered parking areas and for a maximum of two hours. It can not be used for time restricted or mobility parking spaces.
People issued with a permit will be given a sticker, which must be displayed on the front windscreen of the car it’s issued for. It's free to apply for a permit.
A permit is valid for two years. Permit holders need to contact us if there’s any change in circumstances affecting their eligibility, such as selling a vehicle or change of address.
If the car is sold or driver licence surrendered, please tell us and remove the sticker from the windscreen.
You can apply for a permit using the online form below or contact us, phone 209-0330.
