Gore District tops voter turnout in Southland
The preliminary result for the Gore District Council has been released and a late flurry of votes has pushed the District's voter turnout to a Southland high.
Of the 9,049 enrolled voters, 53.9% had their say in this year's local body elections. That compares to 52.66% in 2022 and 45.05% in 2019.
The voter turnout for Invercargill City Council was 44.77%, while Southland District Council was 41.93%.
