Look both ways in Gore’s spectacular Public Gardens and Bannerman Park next month as the annual Garden drive-through is on its way.
Residents who may find walking through the parks challenging are welcome to drive or be driven through the gardens on Wednesday, 15 October from 1:00pm – 3:00pm.
The Gore District Council Ready for Living coordinator Roxy van Zyl said the event was always a huge winner with the community.
“This is a joint initiative between our Ready for Living and Parks teams is designed to help people with mobility issues enjoy Gore’s beautiful gardens in a safe and comfortable way,” she said.
Both the Gore Public Gardens and Bannerman Park are opened for vehicles to slowly drive through. People are reminded to not exit their vehicles, she said.
A light lunch and live entertainment will follow the drive at the Senior Citizens Centre on Ardwick St from 2:30pm to 4:00pm.
“The goal is to make sure everyone can spend time in nature, relax, and connect with others, followed by socialising, live music, and food,” van Zyl said.
