Gore District Best Decorated Competitions
From Friday 1 – Monday 18 December, we will be hosting two major competitions: Best Decorated Business and Best Decorated Residence.
Any home or business located within the Gore District can participate.
Register your home or business on the form below to take part in the competition. We will email all registered participants their QR code poster on 27 November, ready to be printed out and displayed somewhere easy to see, in time for voting to open.
The Voting Process:
Voting will open on Friday 1 December and close at 12 Noon on Monday 18 December. The public will be able to vote for their favourite businesses and residences by scanning the QR code poster using their smartphone's camera. Alternatively, physical voting papers can be completed and submitted at the Gore District Council office, 29 Bowler Avenue.
Only one vote per property or business will be counted, per device or physical form. Multiple votes from the same device for one property will be discounted.
The business and residence with the most votes at the end of the voting period will win.
The Prizes*:
Best Decorated Residence. Thanks to our wonderful sponsor, Eastern Canvas, there are four prizes up for grabs.
- First place receives $300.
- Second place receives $100.
- Third place receives $50.
- $100 will be awarded to the “Sponsors/Mayor's Choice.”
- All winners will also receive a goodie bag with lots of Christmas delights.
Best Decorated Business.
- First place receives a one-month advertising package with Hokonui Radio, valued at over $1,000. The package includes a combination of ad spots, Facebook posts, web content and an on-air interview.
- Second place receives a free one hour business consultation plus free attendance to Sustainability Workshop 1 – awareness and motivation, with Great South, valued around $500.
- Third place receives a Canva social media design package with Crispin Design, valued at $350. You will receive editable template designs, font and colour matching, exporting and loading of brand items all with Canva, giving you and your team access to edit and update.
*Prizes are not transferrable or redeemable for cash. Any additional costs incurred by adding on to these prizes will be the responsibility of the winner. Registered homes or businesses must be located within the Gore District boundary.
The winners will be announced and contacted by 5:00pm, Monday 18 December. Winners must be able to collect their prize from the Gore District Council office before 12 Noon on Wednesday 20 December.
