GoConnect with Gore's free WiFi

Gore is leading the way in making sure locals and visitors to the town stay connected by providing free WiFi in the central business district and at the Gore Multisports Complex.

GoConnect is part of the Council’s strategy to support and encourage a resilient retail sector in the town. The successful GoRetail group is also part of that strategy.

Gore is one of the first towns to have such an extensive outdoor WiFi network. It is seen as key to the town’s continued growth as a motor home friendly destination, and attractive stopover option for visitors.

The service is available 24/7 and there is unlimited data over whatever time period required.  The user will have to accept our terms and conditions every 24 hours however.

The network extends from the heritage precinct to just south of Civic Ave, taking in Fairfield Street to the west and the east side of Main Street. It also includes the Gore Multisports Complex.

It is important to remember the boundary is indicative only and reception may vary depending on the user’s device.

It is also important to note that the WiFi signal can be affected by building construction and objects like verandas, trees and poles. This means that while the service will be available inside some buildings, it won’t be available in others.

These same obstructions can also affect the speed of the connection, although we have worked hard to ensure it is reasonably fast.

The WiFi is not intended as a replacement for a business’s existing internet connection.
