Registration Information and Charges

All dogs over the age of three months must be registered.

Registrations are renewed each year. The Council sends out reminder notices each year, about mid-June. Registering your dog means we can quickly identify the owner if the dog is lost or runs away.

Register your dog online

You can register your dog or dogs online. You can also update your dog's details, such as whether it's been sold or is deceased.

All you need is the dog's ID number. You will find this in the left-hand column on your registration notice.

Register online here and follow the instructions. Please note we can only accept payment by credit card for online registrations.  We have to charge a 2.88% surcharge on all credit card transactions as per usual credit card banking fees.

New dog registrations

If you are a new dog owner, it is your responsibility to contact us (phone 209 0330) or you can download a registration form [PDF, 723 KB] to bring in.
