Gore District Council Dog Information
All dog owners are legally required to register their dogs each year. Application forms are sent to all known dog owners several weeks prior to the due date.
The Council offers a discount to owners whose dogs have been neutered or spayed. Current registration fees can be obtained by contacting the Council office.

Dog Registration Fees
The following fees have been adopted by the Gore District Council and will take effect from 1 July 2013.
|Registration Fee: Urban Dog||$115.50|
|(a) Fenced or a controlled property||-$20.00|
|(b) No dog complaints impoundments or infringements within a two year period||-$30.00|
|(c) Neutered or spayed||-$10.00|
|Registration Fee inclusive of (a), (b) and (c)||$55.50|
|Licence Fee (three or more dogs)||$150.00|
|Registration Fee: Rural Dog||$17.00|
|(a) Dog complaints impoundment or infringement within a two year period||$30.00|
Late registration Fees
|First Impoundment - current registration||$50.00|
|First Impoundment: - unregistered||$80.00|
|Every subsequent impoundment||$150.00|
|Sustenance per day||$10.00|
|Standard microchipping of dogs released from the pound||$36.00|
|Non-standard microchipping procedures will be charged at cost|
|Additional fee for impounding or releasing dogs at weekends, public holidays or outside the Council's office hours||$50.00|
All dogs not registered by 5pm on Friday 6 September 2013 will incur a late registration fee. Dogs not registered by Friday 4 October 2013 will incur an infringement notice.
